Calling from the Sky is a biographical fiction inspired by the life experiences of the author, Michael Copple, a US Air Force skydiver with 2,000 jumps; forward air control operations, combat control, and Air Force Wings of Blue Parachute team member. During his career, he survived multiple parachute malfunctions. These experiences contribute to the book with graphic details of each incident.
In Calling from the Sky, Luke Corbett joins the Air Force. Overly enthusiastic as a missile analyst, Luke unintentionally leaks classified information to Soviet espionage agents. He reports the incident, setting off a chain of events that soon has Luke and his wife in the crosshairs of a vengeance plot. His attempts to protect himself and his family launch him on a new career path. As a parachutist he encounters sabotages to his parachute. Will he be killed by a malfunction? Or will it happen when he finds himself strapped to a tree with his arm stretched out, his hand tied to a fishing line attached to his hair-triggered hunting rifle, aimed directly at his mouth isolated in the forest?
Get an inside look at the Air Force Academy, Air Force special operations, skydiving, and get pulled into the action. Enjoy history and geography; read about KGB practices and training; find intrigue, suspense, realistic parachuting scenes, and how it all led up to a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
